A few days ago, I asked you a question:

What’s the dream you keep putting off?

Maybe you want to start a business.

Maybe you’ve been thinking about writing a book.

Maybe you want to sell something you make, start a YouTube channel, offer a service, create a product, go back to school, or finally turn something you love doing into something more.

Having the dream is exciting.

But then comes the big question:

Where do I even start?

And sometimes that question alone is enough to make us put the dream right back on the shelf.

Today, I want to help you take it down.

🌱 You Don’t Need to Do Everything Today

When you have a big dream, it’s easy to start thinking about everything you’ll eventually need.

A business name.

A logo.

Money.

A website.

Social media.

Customers.

Products.

Paperwork.

Marketing.

And suddenly your exciting idea starts feeling like a giant list of things you don’t know how to do.

But here’s something I want you to remember:

Your first step doesn’t have to be your biggest step.

You just need somewhere to begin.

💡 Start by Getting Clear About Your Idea

Before worrying about logos, websites, business cards, or followers, ask yourself:

What am I actually trying to do?

If you want to start a business, what will you sell or what service will you provide?

If you want to write a book, what do you want your book to be about?

If you want to start a YouTube channel, what kind of videos do you want to make?

If you want to sell something, what exactly do you want people to buy?

You don’t have to have every detail figured out.

Just get the idea out of your head and put it somewhere you can see it.

Write it in a notebook.

Type it in your phone.

Open a document on your computer.

It can be as simple as:

“I want to start a business that ______.”

or

“My dream is to ______.”

Now your dream isn’t only something you’re thinking about.

You’ve started putting it into words.

📝 Then Ask Yourself: What Do I Need to Learn?

This is where a lot of people get stuck because we sometimes think we’re supposed to already know everything.

We’re not.

Maybe your next step is researching how much your idea will cost.

Maybe you need to learn whether you need an EIN.

Maybe you need to find out how to set your prices.

Maybe you need to learn how to create a website.

Maybe you need to research where you can sell your product.

Maybe you need help figuring out a business name.

Not knowing something doesn’t mean you can’t do it.

It just means you found something you need to learn.

💕 And This Is Where I Want to Help

I told you before that I don’t want The Mompreneur Hustle to be a place where I write and you just read.

I want this to become a place where we can ask questions, learn, share ideas, and help each other move forward.

So if you’ve figured out your dream but you’re stuck on the next step, ask me.

You can leave a question in the comments.

You can tell me what you’re trying to start.

You can tell me exactly where you’re stuck.

And if you would rather not share it publicly, you can email me privately at:

📧 themompreneurhustle@yahoo.com

If I know something that can help, I’ll share it with you. If it’s something we need to research and learn more about, we’ll figure out where to find reliable information.

Your question may even inspire a future Ask Momma T post because somebody else may be wondering the exact same thing.

✨ Give Yourself One Small Goal

Before you leave this post, I want you to do something.

Think about your dream and choose one thing you can do next.

Not ten things.

One.

Maybe today you write down your business idea.

Maybe tomorrow you research business names.

Maybe you spend 30 minutes researching what you need to get started.

Maybe you finally create that first page.

Maybe you send that first email.

Maybe you ask the question you’ve been afraid to ask.

Whatever it is, make it something you can actually accomplish.

Because once you take that first step, you can figure out the second.

And then the third.

That’s how something that once existed only in your head can slowly start becoming real.

💕 So, What’s Your First Step?

Last time I asked you:

What’s the dream you keep putting off?

Today I’m asking:

What’s one thing you can do to move that dream forward?

Tell me in the comments.

And if your answer is:

“Momma T, I honestly don’t know what my first step should be.”

That’s okay too.

Tell me your idea and let’s see if we can figure out that first step together.

Dream it. Start it. Build it. Grow it. 💕

Thanks for this! I have wanted to have an Etsy shop for years, but life and my lack of confidence got in the way. After reading your post, I made a document on my computer of what I envision my shop to be and a list of things I need to learn. I also included steps I know I’ll need to take. Thank you for the encouragement!

Valerie, first I want to apologize for my late response! 💕 My laptop wasn’t working properly, and I wasn’t able to get back to you as quickly as I wanted. Thankfully, it’s working again!

Now, let me just say how happy your comment made me! 💕 Congratulations on taking that first step toward opening your Etsy shop! 🎉

Creating a document outlining your dream shop, what you need to learn, and the steps you want to take is already progress, and you should be proud of yourself!

I know how easy it can be to let life and self-doubt get in the way of something we really want to accomplish. But look at you! You’re already taking action!

I’d love to hear more about your dream Etsy shop. **What kinds of products are you planning to sell?**

And please don’t hesitate to ask questions if you need help figuring out your next steps. That’s exactly why I created The Mompreneur Hustle — so we can learn, grow, and support one another along the way.

Remember, you don’t have to figure everything out overnight. Every small step counts!

**Dream It. Start It. Build It. Grow It. 💕**
